5. Partner Network Due Diligence
SCG takes a considered approach to selecting organisations within its partner network. Before establishing relationships, SCG conducts due diligence proportionate to the nature of the services, jurisdiction, product type and risk profile of the relevant organisation.
Our due diligence process may consider:
regulatory licences and registrations where applicable
corporate documentation
ownership and management information
operational capability
compliance frameworks
complaints procedures
professional standing
jurisdictional considerations
publicly available information
supporting documentation provided by the organisation
The inclusion of an organisation within our partner network reflects SCG's assessment at the time of selection. It does not constitute a guarantee, endorsement of future performance or confirmation that every service or opportunity provided by that organisation will be appropriate for every individual. SCG reserves the right to decline, suspend or discontinue relationships with organisations where we believe they no longer meet our internal standards, ethical expectations or due diligence requirements.
6. Know Your Financial Intermediary (KYFI) Framework
SCG applies a Know Your Financial Intermediary ("KYFI") approach when reviewing relevant organisations within its partner network. Our KYFI process is designed to understand the nature, background, governance, regulatory standing and operational practices of organisations before introductions are made. Partner organisations may be categorised according to risk considerations, including:
I. Low Risk Partners
Typically established institutions with recognised regulatory standing, established governance structures and strong operational history. These relationships are reviewed periodically according to our internal review framework.
II. Medium Risk Partners
Partners requiring additional monitoring due to factors such as product complexity, jurisdiction, ownership structure, operating model or other relevant considerations. These relationships are reviewed on an appropriate cycle and whenever material changes occur.
III. High Risk Partners
Partners, products or opportunities presenting elevated risk factors, which may include:
illiquid investments
private companies
limited public information
complex ownership structures
reduced transparency
higher-risk jurisdictions
products requiring enhanced assessment
These relationships may require enhanced due diligence and additional review before relevant introductions are made. SCG's due diligence process is designed to support informed decision-making. It does not eliminate commercial, investment, operational, regulatory or market risk.
7. Investment and Opportunity Risk Warning
All investments, commercial decisions and strategic opportunities involve risk. Before entering into any investment, transaction or contractual relationship, individuals should obtain appropriate independent advice from qualified professionals where required. Risks may include, but are not limited to:
I. Capital Risk
The value of an investment or asset may decrease and investors may lose some or all of their invested capital.
II. Market Risk
Economic conditions, market movements, industry trends and external events may affect outcomes.
III. Liquidity Risk
Certain assets, investments or business interests may not be easily sold, transferred or exited within a desired timeframe.
IV. Currency Risk
International opportunities may be affected by foreign exchange movements between currencies.
V. Regulatory Risk
Changes in laws, regulations, taxation requirements or government policies may affect outcomes.
VI. Counterparty Risk
Outcomes may depend upon the financial position, conduct and performance of third parties.
VII. Development and Project Risk
Property, business and development-related opportunities may involve planning, construction, operational, financing or delivery risks.
VIII. Product-Specific Risk
Certain opportunities, including structured products, private markets, alternative investments and other specialist strategies, may involve additional risks that should be fully understood before commitment.
8. Past Performance and Projections
Historical performance, previous results, market information, financial illustrations, projections or estimates do not guarantee future outcomes. Past performance should never be interpreted as a promise, expectation or representation of future returns. Where information relating to performance, projections or estimates is provided, such information may originate from third-party providers and should be reviewed together with the relevant provider's documentation and disclosures.
9. Suitability and Independent Assessment
SCG does not determine whether an investment, financial product or regulated service is suitable or appropriate for an individual. Any suitability, appropriateness, affordability, eligibility or regulatory assessment is performed exclusively by the relevant authorised provider or qualified professional according to their applicable obligations. An opportunity, service or strategy that may be appropriate for one person may not be appropriate for another. Individuals should consider their own objectives, circumstances, financial position, risk tolerance and professional advice before making decisions.
10. Referral Arrangements and Commercial Relationships
SCG may receive referral fees or other commercial remuneration from members of its partner network where an introduction results in a completed engagement.
SCG does not:
receive client investment funds
hold client assets
deduct fees from client investments
act as a recipient of payments relating to third-party investment transactions
Referral arrangements do not determine which providers or opportunities SCG chooses to present. SCG's decision to introduce a provider or opportunity is based on factors including relevance, suitability of the relationship, client objectives, available information and our internal assessment standards.
11. Independence and Conflicts of Interest
SCG seeks to maintain independence in its strategic perspective and partner selection process. Commercial relationships, including referral arrangements, do not remove our responsibility to act with professional judgement, integrity and transparency. SCG may decline to introduce opportunities, providers or solutions where we believe they do not align with our standards, regardless of any potential commercial benefit.
